Going on a Gitgit Waterfall Tour is something you will never regret. If you only have one day for a waterfall tour, this is the one to choose. It’s a 160km round trip that takes about 10 hours. Gitgit waterfall offers the best value in Northern Bali compared to Aling-Aling and Sekumpul Waterfalls, which require more travel time and mandatory local guide hire.
I recommend starting early to avoid traffic. The roads to Gitgit Waterfall are narrow and winding, and traffic around Danu Beratan can be heavy, especially during high season afternoons.
The itineraries are optimized based on feedback from friends, family, and guests to maximize your time and cover attractions in a logical order. Flexibility is key, so you can modify destinations, spend more time at certain spots, or skip some attractions. Our vetted drivers ensure your safety, providing you with their details beforehand.

Gitgit Waterfall
From Seminyak, it takes about 2.5 hours to reach Gitgit Waterfall, which is 35m high, surrounded by lush jungle, and home to local monkeys. There’s a car park with public toilets available for a small fee, and the walk to the falls is about 500m. Local guides are available but not mandatory.
Lunch options near Gitgit Waterfall are limited, so consider stopping at local warungs along Danu Buyan for snacks or lunch before continuing your tour.
Handarah Golf Course Gates
Stone gates hold significant architectural value in Balinese culture and are ubiquitous throughout the island. You’ll find them at the entrances to villages, temples, and other culturally significant locations.
At the Handarah Golf Course entrance, you’ll encounter the famous Handarah Gates. This site is a photographer’s paradise, with lush mountains providing a stunning backdrop to the impressive stone gates, showcasing traditional Balinese architecture.
Danu Beratan – Floating Temple
After visiting the Handara Gate, make a stop at the Floating Temple, known locally as Pura Ulun Danu Beratan. This temple is one of Bali’s most iconic landmarks. Though you’ll pass it en route to Gitgit Waterfall, it’s best to visit the temple on your return to maximize your time at the waterfall early in the day. Despite the afternoon crowds, the experience at the Floating Temple is worth the stop.
Jatiluwih Rice Terraces
The Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are a breathtaking expanse of terraced rice paddies set against the backdrop of Mount Batukaru. Stretching from the mountains to the coast, this area, commonly known as Jatiluwih Green Land, was nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2007. The name Jatiluwih combines “jati” (meaning “really”) and “luwih” (meaning “special”), which perfectly describes the area. Several cafes offer stunning views, making it an excellent spot to pause and take in the scenery.
