Experience an epic day combining a sunrise trek up Mt Batur with an exhilarating ATV Quad Bike Adventure on the way back.
Watching the sunrise from the summit of Mount Batur is a unique experience. The trek from the base to the summit takes about 2 hours, and the reward is a stunning sunrise over the ocean, with spectacular views of the Agung, Abang, and Rinjani mountains, extending all the way to Lombok Island.
The trek to the summit of Mt Batur is manageable for most people with an average level of fitness. The steady climb is not technically challenging, but the sense of accomplishment when you reach the summit is well worth the effort.
Trekking to Mt Batur Summit
You will be picked up from your hotel or villa and driven to Toya Bungkah village, where you will meet your personal guide and receive a safety briefing. The trek begins around 4 am under a starlit sky, and you will climb at a pace that suits your group, reaching the summit around 6 am.
From the summit, you will witness the sky change from dark purple to burnt orange and pink as the sun rises over the ocean to the east. Mount Batur, an active volcano and part of UNESCO’s Global Geopark Network, stands at 1,717 meters (5,633 feet) above sea level. This hike will be a highlight of your trip to Bali.
As daylight reveals the volcanic valley below, you will enjoy spectacular views of Mount Agung, Mount Abang, and Mount Rinjani, extending all the way to Lombok Island. After a light breakfast (banana, eggs, and coffee or tea), you will trek back down the mountain, passing recent lava flows and the amazing volcanic landscape overlooking the crater lake.
What’s included in the ATV Bali Adventure Tour?
Unlike other packages that include “complimentary” pick-up and drop-off with multiple stops, I provide a personally vetted, English-speaking private driver in a comfortable air-conditioned 6-seater SUV to pick you up from your hotel or villa, ensuring a direct and comfortable ride.
Your driver will take you to the ATV Adventure park and personally hand you over to the ATV operators. The cost of the Quad Bike tickets is included in the price, along with the car, driver, and all applicable fuel and taxes.
Remember to bring a change of clothes, as there are showers and changing facilities at the ATV Adventure park.

Can I ride solo or tandem?
You can choose to ride your own quad bike or share a bike with someone else by selecting the tandem option. When booking as a group, you can opt for a combination of solo and tandem bikes.
